Brechfa Rally 2013

Post by Mudfacetony » 08 Mar 2013, 09:17

It is the Brechfa Rally Sunday :D and I'm not the only CRM :D

The bikes has had a run out (on the road) ad a few nuts and bolts tightened up and two new mousses installed (with much swearing). Not sure if the other CRM rider is a forumite, a guy called Matt from Wiltshire.

Can't wait.

Well, I'm in one piece and apart from one bolt coming out of the rad shield, the bikes is as well :D

However, I have a big problem with the bike. It ran like a dog in the low gears or 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and went like stink in the higher gears and full throttle. A change of plug made no difference, so its jets, coil, power valve servo (fault or cables the wrong way round). Think the latter (cables wrong way around) is doubtful as the problem seemed to get worse as the event went on.

I did not get to see the other CRM rider so not sure if he turned up or not.

Well done Tony :BB , I'm having Michelin mooses fitted on Friday, £225 plus a bit of fitting, not cheap but should be interesting to see what they ride like, a lot better than my flat front I'll bet.
All part of the prep for Kilder and Ryedale.

£225 wow - ££££££. I have fitted some Techno mousses, £140! They were difficult to fit on my own but the front took longer than the rear as the profile of the mousse is the same as the rim. it is gong to be interesting with a bike running real shite where I come in the event.

You know the drill Tony, go for all the usual suspects and narrow it down, you'll get there.

First trail bike up to 250cc and 2nd trail bike (someone on an XR 400 beat me by 4 seconds), 26th overall. Sounds like a good result considering the running problems but dissaponting for me. Still, depeding on how they spilt the trail class, I'm either leading my class, or second.
