crm250 mk3 project

Post by NaBz » 21 Jun 2007, 15:19

hi guys

havent posted ina while thought maybe i could share some stuff i have been doing. my engine has been running bit dodgy for a while so i took the bike off the road , so i could give it a good look at.

things that i will be getting around to:

1, powdercoat frame Black
2, Plastic's changed to black
3, supermoto the bike (respoke crm250 hubs for smaller rim)
4, New sprokets
5, New disk's
6, recover seat black with gold stripe going from back to front
7, the gold stripe on the seat will be transfered all the way across the top off the bike kinda like on the car gt40 but just one stripe
8, Clean every part back to original or close as
9, get rid off the old speedo change with digital speedo just because i need the space what the speedo takes up
10, make custom headlight, i love the look of motorcrossers so will be geting front number plate from cr , and creat this as the headlight with 2-3 halogen bulbs
11, have made custom rear light with l.e.d brake light is sprayed and made just need l.e.d's
12, renthal bars
.......

proberly some other stuff along this long journey but will post up stuff as i go, i have never done this before and dont have much money atm.

so bare with me will be slow but hopefully will get to the other side.
some help will be needed from you guys as i go i know

I've made loads of led rear lights on other bikes basic rule always use 6 in a series then you dont need to use a resister or just butcher an led replacement bulb but a word of warning leds without diffusing lenses only have a safe veiwing angle of 10 degrees, so anyone at the side of you wont see you.ay help I can give you just ask.

hi ,

cheers slasher m8 for the heads up on the never thought about the viewing angle off l.e.d's.
aint realy got around to anything yet but......
engine had been running shite like when your bike is cold and you ride it , it wont go right up through the revs.
you think this could be power valve realated stuck stricky valve
becasue if i cruise my bike when warmed up for 1 minute then pin the throtle it does the same cold engine like stuff.
if i leave it pinned engine will flood if i come off the throttle and gradualy twist throttle and i mean real slow it seems like it works its way through the cold like period in the revs.
as soon as its up in the revs its fine pin throttle offf throttle...etc
its same when engine cold / hot .
sometimes engine will flood and im walking home............

thanks n!ck.
