Hello,

Now i am ready to do my firsts laps on the SM environment but i have a doubt...

Is the stock suspension hard enought to run on SM wheels without tuning it?

I am not a pro and i just want to have some funny laps but i would like to know your experiences with the suspension in supermoto before going to do my firsts laps...

Hello mate,

I think you should go out with the stock set up and see how it goes thats what iv done with mine and it handels fine though iv only been going playing around the streets on it,

But if need be you could always do the compresion up a bit on the forks to get an idea with out doing anything to serious to the suspension,

Are you using the standard disc on the front?

Thanks for the answer.

I have upgraded the front disc to a 320mm disc with a brembo caliper, brembo radial pump and metal brake line. :)

The rest is totally stock.

By the way...in case of tuning the suspension i think just an upgrade of the fork springs would be enought...can you tell me the standard fork springs to search a reference to replace them for some stronger/tiff ones?

To be honest I have no idea what springs are in there but im sure someone on here can tell you?

The cheaper way to make them stiffer is to put a little more oil in, not to much but just a little about 10-15mm should be enough to start with

probably a heavy weight oil is better, you need the airgap because the air is compressible - standard oil weight is 7.5 I think so you can try 10.

Yea so the less air there is the less air to compress making it stiffer

Iv had many people say as a rule of thum have the oil 4 to 6 inches from the top depending on how stiff you want them,

But it will never hurt doing a oil change and if your changing it might as well go a bit heavier, iv known seals to stop leaking after changing the oil
