Fitted seat loosely (1998 CR500) - much easier second time round with a template ;) . Need to change the angle of tank a little, shave ~ 5mm off the width each side of the seat, take ~10mm off the height and recover. It should be even narrower than the first Mk1 (~4cm less width than CRM) and ~10mm shorter than first Mk1 (shorter than Mk3/AR).

XR400 forks serviced with tuned damping and up rated springs.
CR125 tank with new XR600 petcock so as to have a reserve.
Powdercoated frame, swing arm, yokes, stand etc....
New Stainless steel powdercoated bash plate.
Refurbished CRF front and rear brake systems with new stainless steel hoses and new pads.
Almost new XR650 wheels.
CR500 seat - to be recovered.
New ProTaper bars.
New Trail Tech Vapor speedo and multifunction computer.
Acerbis Rally hand guards.
Used DEP pipe and refurbished ProSkill silencer.
New Keihin PWK 33mm carb.

Been working on the seat/tank/panel fit and have managed to lower the seat height so I can just get both feet flat on the floor in trainers with the correct rider and static sag. (30 inch inside leg ;) ). Transferred this work to the other Mk1 as well.

Riding round the garden (nowhere near mid range) the bike seems much more responsive :) . Whether it's due to the carb, reeds, exhaust or silencer, I don't know - probably a combination.

Waiting for seat cover to get MOT.

both looking nice!! - I like how u got one with knobblies and one for road.. ( giving me ideas! :) )

when you say you lowered the seat height - you just shave the seat foam? then restaple back on?

I wouldnt mind feet on ground at traffic lights!

seats not comfy any ways,.

( did any one mention thats not really lighted modded anymore? :P )
1996 CRM 250 "Mk 3" FMF pipe .... - the other 'un is a 98 hornet 600 - Sai Kung Hong Kong
