When I had my Mk1 in TBM they wouldn't ride it. Company policy about damaging it  . Said they don't test ride anymore but subject to change I suspect.........

They said they're not usually bothered about performance of project bikes... Bit in thos instance they were. They also wanted to do their own photo shoot... Then stopped replying to emails.

I heard they borrowed a brand new bike from a Honda enduro school and cracked a panel and refused to pay for it. This put me off.

Excellent build thread that. Love the factory look of the bike.

Shaun,
The project looks very good and pro looking, I had been looking into building the exact bike you have and just found your conversion on this site. Before I do the same thing would it be possible to try yours to see the results? I have a 06 CR250 that I use for enduro events but always wanted the lower first and higher sixth gears which the CRM engine has.
Thanks
Mike

Mike, i run an 03 and an 07 CR250 and with motard wheels and 15/36 gearing - a theoretical 112 mph is achievable.
add a flywheel kit and its tractable and grunty and is easy to pull away with no stalling.
it makes a better and way faster road bike than the CRM
the only kicker is the premix and small tank.

apart from that i would do distance on the CR over my AR all day long. the CR is smoother, faster, so much lighter and between 40 - 70 is actually better on fuel too.

also Ian at Viper racing has developed a pipe for me, allowing it to get the gasses out up top so now is reliable on trackdays and can be held flat out for periods.
coupled with a zeel ECU and powerjet in the carb, even allows for part throttle without going lean or risking being sent skyward when cranked over on part throttle.

Thanks,
My 06 has an HM Moto ignition/lighting coils, heavy flywheel and re-valved front and rear suspension, it also runs a different carb and pro circuit exhaust, the engine pulls clean low down & revs out far better than the std 06 but still lacks a low 1st and high 5th gears. I am at the point of fiiting the revised CRE/Long ratio gear cluster but wanted to try a CRM out before taking the plunge.
