Nice one mate looks good
Aren't you a tad young to be owning an 80's Mega Blaster ?
Makita cordless stick battery drill :o you don't see those often these days , I found them really cumbersome & unbalanced but they last forever , you can still get batteries for them from pattern companies !

i spoke to the Mr's and she says the BT090's are a good tyre they're are old now a , she recommends the conti attack SM's but seem a bit pricey to me at around the £190 mark but thats the same as the bt090's on stickystuff https://www.motorcycletyresandaccessori ... -tyre.html :o
i had a pair of conti attack SM's and they seemed good but don't bother with the Goldspeed/maxxis they're a bit hard .

Dunlop alpha 13's are supposed to be tyre of choice for lighter bikes. They've been available in Australasia for a couple of years but have just started importing them into the UK.

thanks for the info on the tyres, i was thinking if i change them then id like something with more grip when im not on the road because i have a lot of lanes and loose dirt around by me and the battlax's have nil grip on that. im not thinking those nobbly supermoto tyres you can get but at least something with more of a grippy tread pattern that dont leave me wheel spinning

@jompy: Apparently they was one of the very first cordless drills, my dad said he had one when he worked fitting bedrooms in the 80s. i got mine from cash converters for 15quid barely used and in the original metal case with original charger. the battery aint so good anymore though.

and yeah you're right, i wasnt doing any breakdancing in the 80s  but i actually have two vintage 'ghettoblasters' the circa '83 sharp gf you see on the last page and an '88 hitachi 3d. they're great for when your working on something outside and they're loud as fook! but if theres no sockets around, the amount of batteries they go through is ridiculous...
I bought both as non working projects when i was 18, hitachi was an easy fix, needed a new plug, a good clean and i had to repaint the case. But the sharp took over a year to restore, literally nothing on it worked, even needed new speakers.

loving the "ghettoblasters" , can you still get tapes ?
As for the Makita , a guy i worked with in the late 80's had an old one like i said the drill lasts for ever but the batteries don't .
i've bought a couple of pattern batteries from here in the past ;)

You could probably get them off ebay if you really wanted to, not sure why you would though

The makita was alright for 15 quid lol but its not really worth buying a new battery for. May as well buy a newer better one instead

to buy a decent brand drill with decent batteries new your looking at £100+
http://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-dcd795 ... otor/94484
http://www.screwfix.com/p/makita-dhp453 ... -lxt/2290j
both these drills have 2 lithium batteries , the higher the AH the longer the battery will last .
but i guess your happy with your drill for the moment ;)

i got the panasonic drill as well, better power, better battery, better drill in general.

Anyway, boomboxes and drills? :D Before this gets any more off topic... most of the paint on the header of the exhaust has burned off and its only a matter of time before it rusts again, so im looking into other options around that. i spoke to leasure trail and they sell the front part of the exhaust for £185 new, but obviously thats a lot of money when i already have one.

The dep expansion pipe is nice but like all the single skin aftermarket expansion pipes they bend very easy much to my dismay , if I remember I'll post a pic of mine

18/03/16: I repainted the exhaust pipe again using VHT flameproof paint this time, but doing it properly with primer and curing in between coats. The paint apparently withstands upto 1100 degree (centegrade) heat but the the useless sh!t lasted a matter of days before it started to bubble up and flake on the header
The paint on the silencer held up nicely though due to the lack of heat towards the rear, but i gave up on the front pipe and spent 200 quid on a shiny new DEP one! thank you leisure trail
