Hello from the U.S.A.
Hello from the U.S.A.
Hello, My name is Mark from the U.S.A. I have owned my CRM 250 since 1994. Its so nice to find a place that know what a CRM 250 is. Most people here in the states have no idea about this bike untill they see it then they have a million questions. This bike is not exactly legal here in the states due to the 2 stroke emmissions law. But I do have a valid title and registration. I look forward to reading the posts from fellow CRM lovers.

Re: Hello from the U.S.A.

You will find lots of useful stuff for fixing up the old girl archived in the F.A.Q. area, along with model history.
It's always worth having a look in there prior to posting up technical questions as by and large most things have been covered at point in the past.
We have a slightly different problem in this country [UK], we are allowed to poison the atmosphere, were just very limited in areas "off road" that were allowed to do that.
The guys that draft this sort rubbish legislation are probably driving around in mega cylindered pick -ups, have the air con running 24/7, and normally a sodding great hound belching out copious amounts of methane, and co2

No Im not in California Im on the other side Im down at the tip of Florida next to the Florida Keys. It hot and sunny almost year round here its a great area to ride be we dont have any mountains or hills it mostly flat. But a great place to explore on bike. 2 stroke motorcycles over 99cc have been banned here for about 15 years. I love 2 stroke bikes I had a Yamaha RD 400 Daytona Special and I made the mistake of selling it. I wont make that mistake with my CRM. I have owned this bike for 17 years and its still 100% original. I could use a carb kit but they are impossible to find here in the states. So I just clean it our every couple of years but the needle and seat are worn.

Florida, eh, that's Ricky Carmichael country isn't it.
I had the little brother of the 400, the RD 200, that was the first and only bike I ever owned that had an Electric start on, with the generator doubling up as the starter.
I also had the GT 500 Suzuki, that could use fuel at a tremendous rate when being hustled along.
