Hi people. just a few words to introduce myself & my crm. I live near Durham & have just swapped the super(expensive)sports bike in favour of a '91' mk2 for the princely sum of £875. Ferkin bargain i'd say. The look, smell and sound of it takes me back to a time when my chest & scrotum were like the king of madagascar (heir less). Bike's in great nick apart from.......(you know wot i'm going to say)......soft suspension, however having worked as a fluid power engineer, & after reading comments in your forum i'm sure i can sort this issue. Looking forward to ride outs & meeting like minded people. ooh just like to say COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOl site guys.

Keep this quiet, but the a 91 mk2 is the best model to have

how do i know where i can legally ride in my area m8? trf or ord serv maps? do u guys have maps available?

bit of a mine field subject this!.you could go to way finder and get lanes in your area and mark them down on an o.s map

thats the way i started laning,but i have found that the information can be a little out of date some times.create an account on wayfinder and down load the track explorer program.this will then allow you to download lanes by area through out the u.k,you have to click on the lanes individually and it brings up an information about the lane,they use a traffic light system to indicate vehicular rights of way,green o.k, yellow is questionable and reds a no no.however some lanes have rights for bikes but not for cars and it'll still show red?,i always check user comments for more info on this.a basic knowledge of map references and plotting are required to use it but it isn't difficult to learn with a bit of patience
if your crap with maps etc then the trf is a good choice and you'll get guided around your area and its a good way of meeting like minded soles aslong as it isnt like my local group who are very clicky.best to give there meetings a go and see what you think

To be honsest greg, there's not a lot of diffirence between models performance wise

Hi , the local TRF is a good place to start . The Teesside & North Yorkshire section meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month . In fact the AGM is tonight at 8pm with free pies & peas on offer as well . The local group is very friendly & will willingly show you the trails once you join the TRF .

cheers 4 the comments guys. Just done a 400 mile round trip 2 purchase a 98ar for my brother. paid £1350, thats got 2 be cheap right?. he thinks santa's come early (his wife has the same complaint). We'll put my 91mk2 & his 98ar head 2 head this weekend 2 see who's boss. may the force be with me.

I don't know about that Gwyn, I painted my clutch cover gold, and wrote "active radical" in felt pen on my rad shroud, and now my bike goes really fast. Well worth paying an extra grand for
