A few before and after photos. Me and a mate imported to Thailand through the red channel at the airport, it caused a stir as was told only person to import a bike through the red channel, it took all day to get the paperwork sorted, but was an experience, we felt like drug dealers, as every customs officer was over with us and with box's open, but now it is being used, i would like to say abused off road, but lots of animals that bite back if you fall off or hit one, but still great fun.
I fitted Yam head light so i can see at night and also grafted on a rear rack, so now it doubles as my car there, shopping at weekend and fun rest of time, I live in UK, but have house in Thai, so it is great to have there for fun.

The final bills was about 35000, I imported it from the UK and this was just the import taxes, the cost of a plate was a few baht, when i took the bike for the number plate and green book, there was no emissions test or test of the bike, they only rub the frame and engines onto a piece of sticky paper to keep for there reference I guess, but there was not mechanical test, i think they just enjoyed revving the bike to hear the noise, I drove it on UK plates to the station and drove away on Thai plates with the Thia disc, I have not needed any spares, as most are available on the internet.

I imported as bits, but as a complete bike as luggage at Bangkok airport, but the plate and green book I got down near Hua Hin, I went to the local register office for car and road tax in the area, so I think you would go to your local one, not need to go to BKK, I had an import license even through I am not living in Thai, but have a summer house there, I found the local Thai people at the register office very helpful and even did my Thai bike and car driving license there, so I think if you ask at your local reg office they will help, I went with my UK mate, neither of us speak Thai, but they understood what we wanted and to be honest, they bent over backwards to help,
