honda crm 125 mk2 !!!!!!!

hi i own a 1995 honda crm 125 currently of the road becaue of a full rebuild respray and many new parts was wondering where i can get parts to these from and wether any1 noes how to tune cheaply!!!
i have found that when riding in 5th i can get 140 kmh at a push but as soon as i change to 6th it dies to around 80 90 kmh was wondering wether any1 knows y this is? all other gears are fine!!

on my dt i got the top speed in second to last gear its just the way some bikes are

It is because your gearing is too tall to achieve top speed in 6th gear. This makes the bike easier to cruise without revving the nuts off. If you want to get a higher top speed then you probably need to change the sprokets so that 6th gear is just a bit taller than your current 5th. This will help acceleration but will make long journeys a pain.
A quick and easy stab might be to take one tooth off the front sproket.

Is it easy to re-space the other teeth then, and how critical are the gaps
Is it best to use a drill, sort of like the Dentist use

Yes, Steve is spot on.
From memory, the best of the 125, dirt, orientated bikes was the KDX125, followed by a de restricted KMX 125, but the forks were mega, pliable

on those.

Tuning wise - Basically you have an NSR125 engine without the electric start so all NSR mods will work (inc big bore if you want to kill your engine quickly). DEP does a less restrictive pipe and silencer. If you do more than the pipe and just tidying up the ports you will reduce the lifespan of your engine dramatically. 26/27 bhp (at the crank) is the most you will get without major surgery but I have heard about 32/33bhp (That last about as far as a trip to the shops

).
Depending on the country that your bike was registered in will have some effect on the power level it currently produces because of various restriction levels.
CRM125s were made in Italy. They were imported over most of Europe but not the UK. They are rare in the UK and finding parts is quite difficult. Try to get hold of a parts manual so you can get the part numbers which you can then use at any Honda dealer. EBay sometimes has some spares - infact there are some on now for about the 4th time because he can't sell them............

thanks alot for the replys top speed is not bothering me to be honest just wondered why it was like that :) i have a full dep exhaust and probably will just keep it like this just needs a new graphics kit and a few bits and bobs to look smart :)
