Hello im sid and i have a mrk 3 crm 250 MX conversion

Post by Yendis » 15 Jan 2012, 17:54

so i have braught a mrk 3 crm 250 mx conversion about a month ago. it was awsome but slowly over time it has showen a few problems that im not sure how to fix,

NO.1 the spark plug gets verry wet 'oil'ly' and was fine befor. im sure its the mixture screw or dose the seperate oil tank have a scerw to how much oil it disturbutses into thehead or carb whereever it go's !?

NO.2 after 20mins of it running roughtly it revs continuasly 'revs up then drops then repeats' till you put it in gear and realise the clutch, it returns back to normal.

NO.3 i put 5W-40 engine oil into the bike, could this be bad for it !?!?! and at the same time i put some pertol/unleaded inato the tank 'i was given to me so it could have had some sort of mixture of 2 stroke in it that i dont know of. but when i started it for the first time with both engine oil and petrol in the bike it smoked really bad ' lots and lots of smoke'

...
thank you for taking time to read mycomment thanks :) X
P.s Crm 250 when running right is a beast and i will alweys keep it or will have meny more in my life time XD

Are you using premix or autolube (the 2 stroke oil is held in a seperate tank and then pumped into the manifold just before the cylinder).

If autolube check - viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5826

If premix - How much oil do you mix with the petrol and what type/brand :?: .

**Hello and thank you KnackeredMK1**

at the moment im letting the bike pump the 'standered cheep 2 stroke' itself from the seperate tank, as all im doing is pouring the 2stroke in and letting it do it's thing.
so I'd imagen it's autolube'
ohh i read the oil pump adjustment section, and it makes sence, i'll adjust it tomorrow when needed :)
But say i wanted to make my bike a pre mix, how would this be achieved !?

**Also Hello and thank you John**

and no im not putting the engine/gear oil in the petrol or oil tank hehe ' that would be a noobish mistake, thankfully i know that much not to do that XD
but would it be bad for the bike being its not the reccomended engine/gear oil type '
but it must be better than what was in it befor i changed it, there was about half a litre of black watery/oil . noot good :/

Meny Thanks XD
