Impulse brought a mk2 crm 250 last night an thought I would find a place to chat about it as I have never owned an off road bike. So here I am. My first plan is to strip and clean the machine because it's looking abused at the mo. has a full mOT but just needs a tickle. Riding it home was strange with it having knobbly tyres but I will have to get used to it. So what the best things for me to check etc whilst I have it in bits. I want to get off roading with it but not until I know it reliable and I can corner with out my bum burping lol.

:D Hi welcome, if you're stripping the old girl down, the swinging arm bolt is worth looking up in the search area  they have been known to be a little recalcitrant to being moved  , but there are many words of wisdom to be gleaned.
There is a wealth of knowledge just waiting to be explored.
Roughly what part of the country are you located?
Regards Mike

Hi,that's not my area, I'm further sarf, but your local TRF would be a good place to start, at least you'd know you weren't riding any where illegal.
Stoke on Trent might be the nearest branch, tel 07931-728956

today I got talking to a spray painter about having my frame powder coated as I want it to look nice and he's talked me out of it for a while whilst I learn to ride it and as he is a regular attender to some green lanes he will help me out. I didn't even know he had a bike I've known him 5 years lol

Hi thx for the invite and I will join you soon but I don't feel confident enough yet and don't want to be a pain in the back side. I'm not a messer and I will turn up tho just in a few weeks. Btw what kinda time do you start and finish and where do you start finish. Pottsi
