Newbie from Sheffield

Hello people !

Just bought a 1998 Honda CRM 250 AR 2 days ago, Never had a crosser before, or a two stroke .. But love it !

Cant see how to upload pictures so here is a link - http://www.flickr.com/photos/103949616@N07/10045163225/

She currently has an idle problem where she cuts out after 5 seconds if you rev it a tiny bit or just hold revs on a tiny bit so it idles from your throttle ... Found an exhaust leak which I suspect is the problem, this is getting welded soon.

Me and my mate[Pictured] Spent quite a few hours just checking it out and fixing small niggles - http://www.flickr.com/photos/103949616@ ... otostream/

Cleaned all Carb, cleaned Idle jet, put in a bigger new 150 Jet, put brand new Castrol Gear box oil, new Rear Tyre , and Up-rated new spark plug.

After some investigating, there weren't even any nuts on the engine mounts !?!?! but copper greased what we could and put some in - http://www.flickr.com/photos/103949616@N07/10045104284/

Also replaced the front sprocket - http://www.flickr.com/photos/103949616@N07/10045251346/

bit worn if you ask me ! the new sprocket was 15 tooth and didnt fit, so had to go with a 13 tooth.

Got her for a decent price though and only 18k on clocks.

Very nice bike, and very nice acceleration once you git that power valve !

Using Putoline MX7 2 stroke oil and seems to be doing quite well on it ... thats about all for now, will keep and eye out on forum and im sure ill be asking the best place to source parts etc as finding it hard atm !

Bike will be getting repainted etc as current paint job is terrible and don't like black.

Any one know where to get Forks professionally painted/ Ionised ? they've been painted black : / they haven't done a bad job on forks but hate black lol.

Cheers guys =] - Ale

Welcome.

It just sounds like you need to turn the throttle stop in a little to lift the revs at idle?

Hi and welcome,

I am new myself, swapped my bandit 6 for a crm 2 weeks ago and I haven't regretted the decision at all! Despite over tightening the oil drain plug and splitting the crank case!

aaah right how would I go about that matey ?

And excellent choice Kingoftheswing =], I went from a Ninja 636 , Gs500 to this =] and love it, never had a bike thats put power down like this before and been so comfy to ride and still look cool !

Just hope she gets cheaper to run, had her 3 days or so and spent £200 on her already on daft bits haha

Kind regards - Ale

Check that you have free play in your throttle and also check your vac hoses for leaks.
