Spot the DOG

Post by abigsupermoto » 09 May 2010, 10:50

I, as some may remember had a MK2 which I liked, but I sold it to help set myself up in buisness and slowly have been saving to get myself another CRM, I recently bought a MK3 off e-bay, It looked a bit rough but thought it would be something for me to have a play with. heastock bearings were shot as were the fork seals, so whilst the front end was off I thought it would be best to carry on and strip the whole bike, and start from scratch.
as with most of these bikes the swingarm pivot was seized solid, but with help from a fine member of this forum, I was put in touch with a guy with a big machine and the know how of persuading it out of my frame.
So this is how it is now, I intend to have the frame/swingarm powder coated and then start the rebuild as time and funds allow, If it turns out half as good as Knackered's I will be happy.
here is a pic of the frame/swingarm, and my dog (although she isnt called spot) can you tell the difference? between one dog and another?

:D Well, of all the MK,s to be considered worthy of a nuts and bolts rebuild the MK3 is probably the best investment ;) .
When I see the cost of those ECU,s I'm thankful were not in the "premier league" ;)
I'm sure you'll do it more than justice, and look forward to your speedy return.
In these testing times, it's a brave man that starts up a new enterprise, all the very best of luck with it.

I must admit my farourite bike was a GasGas EC 250 that was almost the exact colour of the Mugen plastics. I do like the colour. If I had a Mk3 I'd snap them up. I'd also get called a lot of names  .
