Ill be honest with you mate I did amateur morocross when i was 19-20 I started with a 2001 kx125 then up graded to a 2002 cr250 then stopped and sold it, but brought another 2003 cr250 last year then sold that to buy a house but if it wasn't for that I would still have it as it was an amazing bike with loads of torque and it was fantastic to ride I'm only 9 stone and It was well controllable honestly I would seriously look into getting one you will not be disappointed!

Plus your keeping it real with Honda you can't go wrong

i have considered a cr 250 mainly to do with the fact the engines are bullet proof but my mate whos on the vid with me has the rm 250 evo, his bike is excellent for an old bike its got loads of power and torque and keeps up with the newer cr's and it skips beautifully over the whoops on the tracks, the only problem he had was when he went through the big puddle near the end of the vid and it turned out to be a lot deeper than he thought so the bike didnt like it and turned itself off thats why he was sat on the his bike at the edge of it but with a little bump start the bike was up and running again, ive got a few new things coming this week for my tm, a talon 51t rear sprock, some more gaskets, and a new rear tyre, some of the problem with loss of control was caused by my rear tyre being quite worn and not digging in properly so lets see if the new one helps

the crm is gone mate, i had a choice of one or the other so i chose the mx bike as ill get better use out of it, i dont get my license back until end of august so i couldnt do any green laning, by august ill have save enough money to get a decent crm 250ar and be able to use the bike for what it was meant for

Less power, is always an easier way to learn.
It's rare for me to so, but in this instance I would recommend the CRF 250, they have enough go for the wow, factor, but crucially, you will still be alive in 6 months, then think about going a bit bigger.
From my racing days, I would say 75% of riders are over biked.
I thought I could ride a bit, till some 7 stone young lady blitzed passed me and my YZ490, on a YZ 125
Just my tuppence worth.
Oh, and the training idea is great, I used to go to Thorpies training schools, they were brilliant.

women riders! well ive taken the tm off swaps, ive done some fiddling today fitting my new parts and im going getting my new rear tyre fitted on saturday so lets see if it makes any difference for me, i also noticed while i was fiddling today that the previous owner had the forks lobsided no wonder the steering felt heavy it made a difference me leveling them out i noticed this when i was pushing the bike back in its hidey hole so i reckon its going to be even more controlable, hopefully with the new rear tyre on the back end is going to stop trying to come round and meet me at the front only sunday will tell.
i do agree a lot of mx bikers make the mistake of getting over powered bikes after all its the rider that makes the difference not the bike, studying my technics hard now ive already noticed from watching my vid and comparing to the training vids that im sat completely wrong, gotta get my arse in gear and work hard

I would watch that but,it's got that notorious D!keOnaB!ke, Big @rse Balders, on there, who also incidentally whilst doing a walking spot for BBC Radio 4, completely bad mouthed all Motorcycles, and complained bitterly about them being on "legal Byways", but can overlook her prejudices if there's a few quid in the offing, miserable two face Rambliar.
Plus, I'm out tonight counteracting similar cr@p, from more of her Rambliar fiends.

nope been in work all day wishing i was on my tm, im off up deeside tomorrow on it cant wait, new parts all fitted dont want to get my shiny new talon rear sprocket dirty though seems such a shame

reet this is the cr250 im getting my hands on possibly wednesday if i can get my mate to drive me down to nuneaton, it a 1992, had a full rebuild ( got the invoices to prove this) been rejetted, had fork seals, crankshaft bearings and seals replaced (invoices to prove this too) only 2 owners from new him being the 2nd owner and hes still got the shop reciept! quite a few spares like gasket sets, carb jets another tank off a 93 model, new tyres, he wants to do a straight swap for mine as he used to own a tm250 in the early 1990's and has always wanted a 300 and seeing as mine still needs a new rear tyre and a few other bits and bobs to get it up to full spec condition theyre worth about the same, so there you have it i have listened to your advice lads

That Cr looks very tidy . I would suspect it's in better working order than the TM.

That looks like a cracking bike there I was lookin at a 2010 raced yz 250 for £4700 today and it didnt look as smart as that.
