well he certainly says it runs fantastic i will find out when i go to do the swap he seems like a bit of bike nut like us lot and enjoys his projects, the main stuff with my tm is cosmetic tidying apart from the rear tyre and chain but the tm does run great well it has to as ive been out on it every weekend since i got it and ive serviced it after ive been out on it too as when i got the tm i dont think it had had a service or oil change since the poor thing was purchased by the previuos owner! it really gets on my tits when people buy bikes and dont do or learn anything about them and just run them until they die! a simple oil change, piston ring change, gasket change a good grease up and clean is cheap easy to do and very fullfilling especially when it keeps your bike in good order

:D well i picked up my cr250 last night, didnt get back until 12.30 though but well worth it, been adjusting rear suspension to suit my ride height today and of course i just had to start it up :OMG it sounds mint and the compression is unbelievable its definatley been rebuilt from top to bottom, he also chucked a vast amount of important spares and paperwork et including the reciept for when the bike was first bought brand new from the shop! im a very happy chappy and shall take some pics of me smiling widely with my new steed and post them up for you all to see and dribble over ( the bike of course!) im also off up to the tracks this sunday so expect yet another vid link, just one question though it has race fuel in the tank do i have to use it all before i replace with normal unleaded or can i mix them? never used race fuel before :?

I would always use high octane petrol in a race bike just to be on the safe side. I assume by race fuel he just means premix :?: . Or does he mean extra bits :?: You could always ask him.

no he meant the proper high octane stuff that cost a lot per litre, he has used unleaded in the bike in the past but he said he doesnt know what effect it would have if topped the tank up with unleaded while its still got race fuel in, so should i just use the race fuel until it runs dry then put unleaded in?

I would think 97/98 RON would be fine unless he has done some head mods to increase the compression. Check with an MX dealer to settle your mind. Also check jetting now and what it should be according to Honda (though there is probably some small change from factory settimgs to get best performance) :?: .

I can't see what benefits he was hoping to get if he hadn't done any work though - except peace of mind :? .

hokey dokey, hes not done any mods apart from a full rebuild although he did give me a bag of carb jets too as spares ill run it until the race fuel is low then put a bit of unleaded in say about a litre then see if it runs like a bag of spanners and if it does ill just drain the lot out then replace with unleaded cheers knackered

Race fuel just gives the bike more zing.Yes just use it up, then IMO, fill the tank to dilute what's left more.
The bike might sound and feel slightly less of a hand full when on normal pump fuel.
