beggining of a long journey

Post by john7780 » 13 Feb 2011, 21:17

got myself a 1987 cr250 today swapped it with my mate for a mikilon 250, he wanted the mikilon because it runs and it wont kill him, completely stripped the cr took me 3 hours, then sprayed the frame with graffiti remover whih when left will remove just about anything off a variety of surfaces, the frame is now down to the metal so tomorrow i will commence phase 1 of my long journey to refurbish the whole of the cr, pics will be posted of each phase, when finished this cr will be helping me get a crm250ar

Thought you already had a CR?

How come you yearn so much for an AR when Mk3s are just as good? (Not my opinion, just what ive kinda gathered from the peeps on here)

An how come you change your bikes more than i change me under keks? hahaa

i certainley do already have a cr250 check out my vid on youtube called open valves, i was offered this one by my mate who knows bog all about bikes except how to ride them so i wouldve been the one to bring it back to life anyway, he wanted my chinese 4 stroke yzf copy because it looks and runs nice and seeing as i only paid 360 for it and he paid 400 for the cr i said yes, the parts are cheap enough for the 87 cr and its easy enough to work on as every one knows hondas are the beesknees, i dunno about the mk3 id say its 50/50 vote in here between the ar or mk3 as it seems quite a lot have one of these bikes on here and besides i want to find out what this active radical business is about  the 87 cr is classed as an evo and judging by the prices the evo bikes are going for i reckon i could buy an AR with just the money from the sale of the cr

John - It's an '85-'87. '88 & '89 look like a Mk1 CRM.

Surely frame is from a CR not an XR (air cooled 4 stroke) :!: .
