My CRM's

Post by madmanreevo » 14 Apr 2011, 23:22

My first CRM, which i bought off an importer on near torquay I think. I was a bit disapointed when i first saw it as it had gone rusty in places after being in container. But I soon cleaned it up. Regreted selling it, sold it to try an XR400.

My 2nd CRM bought off ebay, wasnt too bad I bought a ccm404 while I had it and decided to rebuild it. I stripped it down.
That was as far as I got as i had marriage problems ended up selling both bikes trying to make the marriage work :?

Now then the marriage failed :o I got divorced and hey presto the bikes are back  After going through it I said Id never sell a bike for a women again!! So my third CRM I bought off ebay it was a bin to be honest. I decided to rebuild after finding swingarm pivot totally siezed so i cut off the swingarm with a cutting disc on an angle grinder. As shown in Pic.

After much cursing, swearing and bloody knuckles months later the crm was done, powdercoated frame + rear shock spring, polished swingarm, polished stainless bolts everywhere, rebuilt rear shock, front suspension top re-anodised, bottom hardchromed with new bushes and seals, taper head bearings, swingarm pivot bushes in engine had bronze bushes made to replace steel ones, Full DEP system, Finished with custom made graphics from dangerUK. Next job is to SM it, which hopefully will be soon as taking it IOM end May for TT.

:D A testimony to what some spit and polish, and a LOT of hard work can produce, well done.

Three great CRM's... I do like the later one best I think! Sorry to hear about the wife, but hey..... bikes don't moan when you want to ride another one! And your mates don't usually mind if you want to ride theirs!! ;)
