AR Twins see the light

Post by helisupp » 10 Jul 2012, 15:07

Well the first 250 AR twins are now finished, run and fully setup.

The only thing I may do is paint the engine cases in a week or so (have paint already).

Next AR is stripped and hopefully ready for reassembly this weekend, just one more to go then.

Surprised how they empty the bank so quickly, but thankfully only minor painting (tank) and no chroming.

Ash

I would like to say rechromed, but they are new...........as is a lot of parts.

Have you seen the AR on Ebay, very tempting.

The AR was too tempting, offer accepted.......................collect later.

No more buying, wife needs some garage space. RD350 may have to go to make room for it.

Collected another AR from London yesterday, made a low offer on ebay and it was accepted. 4,000 miles from new fully documented, 2 owners, even original bill of sale, totally original everything apart from exhaust system, completely undamaged, with ally rack, it was an absolute bargain. The swingarm pivot was known to be seized, but 24 hours with plusgas and use of a pneumatic impact hammer sorted it, (easier then drilling it out like the last one).

This is going to be project No 4.

No 3 is back from powdercoaters and waiting for zinc plating to come back and then reassemble.

No 5 will be completed without using so many new parts, just using the best from the previous 4.

Anyway guys, I still need an original headlight if anybody has one, willing to pay £50 for a complete good one..
