I saw your luvly cases a long time ago before I completed 1st bike, and will be at Redditch in the new year with 5 clutch cases for powdercoating.

Just need to order the water pump seals..........next time I call Tom at LT.

Mark,

As you know it's a bit of a git job to do as you have to strip the case down, that's oil pump and all bearings and seals. Also as you know those water pump seals are very expensive!! I had mine done in Burton but apparently it's not the proper powder they use but is all they can get in the gold. It does chip and wear really easy, but to be honest I only really did it for the final photos to make it look as new as possible... Not that it would ever stay like that.

I may just rub them down then and have them 2 pack painted, leaving the water pump and internal parts in situ.

Will experiment on a spare casing first.

Somebody on here painted just the actual clutch cover (round bit) whilst on the bike by making a circular template/mask. Not sure what paint he used but it was a good match.

It was amazing how much crud came out of the carb, blocked jets etc.

Will be cleaned and reassembled with nice new hoses.

Can you believe it, it took 6 hours to clean, electrical check, clean every pin and connection and rewrap the wiring loom with tape. :x

Loom and a couple of items now fitted, its a sod fitting the loom tightly when rewrapped, left in a cold garage overnight, had to warm it near a radiator and then fit.

The dreaded side stand switches are fitted to all the bikes as I like them in standard working condition (I still need one more that works as one is a duffer).

Brakes now being refurbished (bit of a mess), the calipers I am using have been painted metallic gold and look in a sorry state, so paint stripping and rotary nylon brush being prepared.

When trying to install the hoses........no lower carb pipe fitted to LH radiator, must be a MK3 rad not an AR rad, was on one of the bikes, not sure which one..........strange  .

Just fitted a spare rad, the radiator you see in the pics is for sale if anybody needs good MK3 LH radiator, with lower hose for £20.

Well its been slow due to the amount of cleaning and inspecting.

This is the brake system being used on the bike, needs a lot of TLC, new master cylinder seals, pins, pads, pad springs etc, and a very good clean up.

Should be done this weekend, so will post an "after" picture showing what can be done with a bit of WD40, brake cleaner and a rotary nylon brush.
