CRM 125 - General
Not a bad road bike but the suspension and brakes are not anywhere near the 250s class. Engine has powerful top end but very limited torque <6,500rpm. It is also has long gearing. - Basically it is an NSR 125 engine minus the electric start.
There are no transferable parts CRM 125 <-> CRM 250 (apart from aftermarket bars & grips
). Brakes and wheels are very different and though plastics look the same as Mk1/2 they aren't.
They are very tall (taller than a Mk1) so do look like a 'big bike', but only have 9.5 inches front travel and maybe a bit more at the back (as I remember
).
Built by Honda Italia and quite common on the continent. Power depends on country of origin and use of aftermaket expansion chamber and/or silencer. Can be up to 33 bhp with a bit of tweaking; but don't seem to last long at this state of tune
. Various big bore kits are around which need changes to carburation. These are not usually made by 17 year old owners - Hence even shorter life span of engine
.
