Questions about MOTs are quite regular. Below is an explanation of the rules to the best of the Forum's knowledge. They may not be absolutely correct and are obviously subject to change.

Indicators are only necessary if you have pillion pegs fitted. If indicators are fitted they must work but you can have the switch present with no indicators.

If you have pillion pegs fitted you must have functioning indicators and a rear chain guard. You do not need a rear chain guard if you don't have pillion pegs fitted.

Most MOT inspectors will pass the original Honda headlight although it doesn't have a defined beam and is not 'e' marked.

You can get a 'day time' MOT by taping up, or removing, all your lights, including the brake light. A 'day time' MOT has no different paper or computer work than a 'full' MOT. Seems crazy but this is how it seems to be done.

If your tyres have an 'e' mark they are road legal. If not then they are not.

You should have a red rear reflector which ideally should not be on the surface of the numberplate but you might get away if i is so positioned.

From the experience of the forum these are the rules that get asked about most frequently. MOT inspectors have varying interpretations however and you are perhaps best to comply with them.
