ECU/PGRs for testing - Lixianda

Post by knackeredMk1 » 11 Aug 2017, 11:01

A brief history-

About 2/3 years ago Lixainda (Chinese manufacturer of aftermarket ECUs/PGRs) contacted the forum about getting a copy of a Mk3 ECU. They were already selling an AR version which some of the members of the forum were using. I sent them a Mk3 ECU and they analysed it and sent back prototype Mk3 and 2 versions that I circulated amongst those forum members willing to test them. Unfortunately there were difficulties with the prototypes (several versions) and the project faded away.

More recently an engineer in Lixianda picked up the remainder and went on to make both Mk2 and Mk3 versions that the company now sells.

I have two Lixianda ECUs for testing. One each of Mk2 and Mk3. These are finalised production product that are being sold, not prototype versions as were circulated a few years ago.

Please contact me by PM if you want to be involved in confirming how they work compared to the original Honda spec.

These ECUs are very significant for the long term viability of CRMs. Honda no longer make ECUs and there are very few available new and they are extraordinarily expensive.

Shame they don't have an AR one to try too as I am running a separate Controller for my powervalve but don't trust the Lixianda enough to shell out a couple of hundred sheets for it.

Quite a few AR owners have been running Lixianda ECUs for a few years now. I have heard of no problems. Several owners have posted on here and one I passed on has been used for ~two years.

I may go down the track of a Lixianda unit as I have been waiting to purchase a separate controller but no luck yet with them getting back to me, pv motor and resistor now test fine and wiring has continuity so it hopefully should be only the PGM left. Any pics of the PV cable adjustment as when the valve is fully closed the cable pulley is hitting the front adjuster before it lines up, any tricks to look for.
Cheers Rick

There is an AR manual in English. I don't have one but there are electronic copies around.

A year has been and gone since I put this message up and the ECUs remain untouched in their wrapping. I have had no owners wanting to test except one request from Poland which I refused on the basis of cost of transport.

I will be selling the ECUs to cover costs of import taxes and transport I got from the original testing.

Hi, Ive only just seen this post. I'd be willing to test a Mk3 ECU if the offer is still available?
