Road legal Exhaust

Post by Jonorow » 12 Oct 2006, 21:06

Hi all, I have just got hold of a genuine honda silencer as my Mk3 came with an FMF fitted. But i noticed that there is nothing on the honda one to say it is road legal either. so has anyone had any problems with MOT's with the original silencer? it doesnt sound any quieter that the fmf can either, but i supose it will when i get the fmf front. your thoughts please. Jon

Mine just past its MOT with a full FMF system fitted, the only MOT rules concerning exhausts at the moment is that they must not display markings such as 'not for road use' or produce excessive noise output. its at the discretion of the MOT tester for the amount of noise the bike makes.
I would be surprised if a CRM failed due to just an aftermarket silencer.
