Re: stop cock look normal?
thanks to a very sympathetic steve!
I *think* I got a reserve...
got my stop cock out (ohhh err sir!!! ) and the little pipe that goes inside the big pipe was missing!
got a replacement and stuck that in the recepticle...
there was a black rubber on the little tube...
wondering have I put it too low? ( why didnt I take a photo?!! - facepalm! )
cos reserve fuel flow seems to trickle out real slow!
or is that normal?
I have drained and refilled the last 1.5 liter out of the tank 3 times now! took me a few goes to get it right eh?
now there's only a liter of fuel! hmm one of life's mysteries?~!! ( left elbow has a partial answer... but not that much surely )
PS yes it is 36 degree's here -

Re: stop cock look normal?
first time i switched to reserve on my KTM DUKE II it died , i had to push it a mile to a petrol station , checked the bike at home & found the longer (main) fuel pipe had fallen out the stop cock leaving me with no fuel . i ended up buying a new one . . . . maybe i should have taken this as an oman !

Re: stop cock look normal?
BARSTOOLS!!!!!
have I got this wrong?
yes I ran out of petrol again! right I thought! switch to reserve I thought! ......
luckily for once I was near a petrol station, and I had tools with me! ok I planned it! - I wanted to check the reserve worked!! and it doesnt!!
I took that little black seal off the pipe... and the straw is firmly in the little hole... seems a simple principle really?
anyways it seems that no matter which way I turn the tap it runs dry.
ie the o runs dry = the reserve runs dry - but there is no reserve
the Off works tho

Re: stop cock look normal?
Seems like the internals of the tap are screwed . Someone on here must have one. I've thrown away several - they usually don't need replacing.

Re: stop cock look normal?
I should make a list of everythign thats been bodged on me bike!
sort of a warning!
I shall post an ad asking if anyone's got one..
luckily here isnt that big - so I shall just play safe and fill it up everytime I go out in the meantime,. ( or maybe take the tap apart and see whats been done to it! )
If I can actually do 100 Km in a day thats a big ride for here..
