wondering if maybe the the bars orent standard now - so thats their way of "extending" the hose length..

well at least I got somethings to try and see if my brakes get better,,

I shall delve in to the FAQ - and see if that answers my question about the master cyclinder service kit ( ie are all years comaptible )

thanks fella's

copied from the FAQ

All CRM front calipers are exchangeable as are the majority of other Nissin calipers fitted to off road bikes. So are the front master cylinders though......

?? so does this mean the seals etc for the master cyclinder are sexchangeable.. ???

I got full set of seals for the calipers.. but they didnt have any in stock for the master cylinder

( altho this was just a shop not the honda dealer )

hmmmm - I ordered a bleeding valve - so just waiting for all this to get here

It's easy enough to buy a braided front hose for a Mk3/AR. There are loads out there.

thanks dude - thats a good price..

you think if I err on the side of a bit too long - it will be ok?

cos I figured out the route of the cable... ( thru the lower guide eye - and round the the inside of the fork leg around to the caliper )

should have some spare length right?

( wheel will drop when applying power... 8-) or going over a drop off.

I guess I will go and get a piece of string or something

( other hose came and IS too short - looks like it will fit my wife's TW tho...... )

Fishy- I have never seen that wierd metal tube attachment underneath the front brake before, it looks bent out of shape and a real target for being smacked with debris off the road/trail and is too thin, so will add more pressure to pulling the brake efficiently...the brake line should attach to the back of the brake block and go directly up the back of the fork legs via a retaining loop. I think this pipe you have is an 'addition'. It could also easily be blocked and because its low down, where a lot of crap or any water collects. Get rid of it. Replace your brake hose with a new one onto the back of the brake and bleed system- mine is 170mm, but is a bit too long and comes up and over the front headlamp cowl. You could cheaply put a second hand pair of levers on- I have put 2 finger ones on mine and they work fine and fit into the bark-bashers fine too without trapping my fingers. The pads and seals in the pics look a bit shot and could be replaced too.

hey thanks for the number,,

existing brake line is 147 cm

correct route *looks* to be 150 cm

altho that doesnt seem to be allowing much spare...

so 170 is well over the light cowl???

160 or 165 long enough anyone?

I emailed one company asking to just get the front - no reply so I will need to order custom ( from earls - recommended by twisted nuts :) )
