Newbie with a few questions.

Post by anotherusername » 20 Jun 2012, 21:53

Hello all....I am new to the board and I am a relatively new owner of a CRM250....I am still trying to determine exactly what I have.....I have documents that state both 1992 and 1993 as the year and I have not found the location of the vin# on the frame(may have been covered up when powdercoated) with the current information I have I believe it is a MK2.2?

I am in the US and I am having difficulty finding part suppliers.

I am in need of water pump seals. I do not have a parts manual but I assume there is one for the impeller side and one for the cover side. I will also need clutch cover gaskets or any related parts required to change seals. Does anyone have these part numbers so I can try to source them from a local dealer? If a local dealer does not have the parts who are the better suppliers out there?

Thanks in advance for any advice as well as the great forum.

Regards,
Mark

Have a look at this thread

Your best bet is to get the part no. book then try a local and order the part no from a local or US based Honda dealer.
If you have no luck there Lesuretrail in the UK are very good.

Hi Mark, it's normally possible to source the seals from dedicated bearing and seal factor outlet such as,
http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/Seals/c19/index.html
Remove the seals carefully, and read of the sizes, or take them to a local factor place.
You can also measure them yourself with a reasonable set of vernier callipers.
A full set of gaskets can be sourced here,
http://www.massiveracing.com/gasket-ful ... 6664-p.asp
Or if you're really on a budget, get a sheet of gasket paper, and use the casing as template to make your own gasket.
There is a UK based company that does most bits and bobs, but the postage will rack up the charges.

Have a look in the what fits what section, is quite a lot of cross fusion on parts used.
Most Honda dealers can get most bits.

Thanks for the quick replies.....I should have mentioned that I am looking for and will be purchasing a shop and parts manual when I locate them.

I am looking for the part numbers from someone who already has a parts manual so that I can see if a dealer here in the states can provide them. If not then I will try to source them as Mike suggests or order from someone on the vendor list such as Leisure Trail.

I really am anxious to get the bike up and going again ...it has quickly become one of my favorite bikes.
