Re: Big Mistake
Z650. Bootiful. Been lookin to buy one as a project but not many good ones about.
Nothing beats the sound of a four into one on these bad boys.
A nice one went for 1700 on gaybay, and i regret not bidding, but id be having to borrow cash at that amount, an the wife might find out

Re: Big Mistake
Thats what I'm thinking Eddie. I've sold so many bikes (RD350LC YPVS, RD500, Z650, Garelli Tiger Cross to name a few) and regretted it, so hopefully won't make the same mistake again.
Have to agree sold to many bikes I should have kept
I have a 2000 model cr500r and love it even though it's not all that practical
For the tight enduro rides I like hence the purchase of the CRM
But I'll never sell the 500 in oz they starting to become scarce
And can only start to rise in value

Re: Big Mistake
I always liken KTMs to be the BMW equivilant of the bike world.
Never had one, never will. Granted they have some nice bits on, just don't like them or the image.
This is based on nothing more than personal prejudice, not jealousy in any way.

Re: Big Mistake
Having seen all the politics flying around recently regarding the future of (legal) green laning, I've got the idea of spending a load of dosh on a KTM 300EXC out of my system.......for now.
So, Its back to the on/off love affair with my CRM

Re: Big Mistake
Well the thing is, as a nearly 20 year old bike, they are still relevant when you weigh up the potential cost of highly tuned four banger grenading.
I don't know about long distance touring, again due to the age, but a fresh one should be able to do some reasonably long rides, it's just the 2T issue when on the road away from home.
