How can I tell if the oil pump is working?

Hi guys
Iv almost got my project crm ready for a test/tuning run before I work on the looks.
One of the things I was wondering is how can I tell if the oil/ fuel mixture pump is working? Iv searched around & I know about checking the setup of it but how can I be sure it's actually injecting oil into the fuel?
The oil sensor is broken so I have no way of telling if the oil is going down yet.
It's running ok, a bit smokey but I'm assuming that's too much fuel which I can sort when I take it for a test run.

pre mix a bit of petrol 1 or 2 liters should be plenty , empty the tank and put the premix in disconnect the twostroke pipe where it enters the inlet, blank the inlet off and fire the bike up , you should get oil coming out of the pipe from the pump once you are happy alls well reconnect the auto lube fill the tank up and away you go

I had considered using premix full time, especially since I discovered a broken drive gear for the oil pump. It goes on the inside of the clutch casing.
But from what iv read on the forum it's better to have the pump working instead of premix as you get the right amount of oil depending on throttle position. Is this correct?
If I can't get a new drive gear for the pump I will just go premix anyway.

Autolube is better than premix unless you spend most of your time on full throttle - as in competition.

That's what I thought knackered. I just hope I can find the drive gear for the pump!
Thanks again.

you get the right amount of oil with premix as long as you mix it correctly to start with

69chris its the plastic cog that fits inside the clutch casing. It is for the oil pump but it doesent actually attach to the pump.

It'll be FOC if I can find one. Just tell me how many teeth are on it to be sure I've got the right one.

It has 18-19 teeth on it, it's hard to tell as some are broken off! Its the one that has two sets of teeth on it if that helps. The smaller set of teeth has 13 teeth on it?
Thanks for your help as always.
