Mk3 main jet size and oil ratio for pre-mix
Gents, following my crank failure at the Kielder rally, I'm thinking about running pre-mix on my Mk3, standard exhaust with Boyesen reeds.
Firstly, is it worth the hassle? I'm paranoid about losing another crank so currently yes in my book.
If so, anyone have any experience as to ratio for fuel/oil, main jet size.
It may have been written elsewhere here but having searched I can't find it, so apologies if so.
Cheers,
Andy

The vast majority on here use the pump and trust it.

So far the pump is still in service, though i must admit i did set it to add a touch more oil. Started the Ryedale rally with 130km of running in done, cruised the liason sections and didn't hold it flat out on the special tests and it made it round fine, don't think it slowed me down at all really. I guess it was fully run in by the end of the rally.
Since then with normal hooning around on Salisbury Plain including a few flat out bits it's been superb.
Need to change the pipe, mine's bent and doesn't seal well to the barrel or line up with the mounts and blows a bit. Might get the blow torch out until i can find a second hand Mk3 pipe.
The CRM punches well above it's weight so don't be fooled into thinking you need the latest orange thing to compete, turn up on the CRM and see how many "i had one of those" comments you get.
There isn't a better sports trail on the market today, manufacturers are missing a trick, come on Honda, you have the technology, stop messing about putting lawnmower engines in, soften the CR250 motor a bit and make a modern day CRM! Pleeeaassse!
