Post by warloks » 20 Nov 2015, 20:34

Hi everyone I took my crm out today just a spin around the block and I was a little disappointed by the way it went I was expecting 1st gear wheelies but it didn't deliver the goods it's on 14k miles is it due a rebuild I own 3 other hondas.a blade, blackbird and a cbr600 so that's all I can compare it to how do you really know when the engine is tired

They only kick out 40hp and I'm sure that's at the crank , I used to be able to wheelie mine in 2nd but it was geared down and there was a knack to it , roll along in second at just over walking pace , chop the throttle and then give it a fist full !
Remember this isn't a CR it's a trail bike it's more about steady riding & torque ;)

Stock they put out slightly less than 30bhp at the wheel. Acceleration has a lot to do with gearing and tyres. Also affected by chain and sprockets as well of engine condition. To check the basic engine condition you have to at least take the cylinder head off and also look up exhaust port. You are looking for marks on the piston and bore and wear on the bore.

i stuck 48 teeth on the back...that should help... 'accidental' wheelies pulling off traffic lights are common..

few revs drop clutch. up she goes.

remember the back brake hehe

Im on 14/45 sprockets and from the lights opening it up properly im up on the back wheel and still up in 2nd puts a huge smile on my face every time lol altho my previous crm did it down gearing to overtake a car only for the police to see it and chase me and pull me over then say its classed as anti social behaviour on a bike and they can sieze and crush it but i heard that a you wont get in trouble if its a wheelie under 3 seconds so ive heard

That copper in the in marked Audi didn't like me going past him on the back wheel of the R1 !
Couldn't explain to him that he took his foot off the gas when he was just past the push bike as I was rolling on the throttle so I had to chop the throttle for a second then opened it up , problem was I was in a low gear , more or less commited to the overtake on a clear road but a bend coming up , obviously didn't realize he was a copper as all the windows were a dark tint , the front started to lift and I just thought f**K it ! Lists of humble pie 3 points & a £100 fine later doh!
