had a whizz through search but can,t find the answer.

has my side panel "number boards" have a bit of wear and tear,nothing too serious however.

just pondering the best paint to use...was considering car bumper white as it has a bit of flex in it ?

don't really wand to do "sticky" stuff as it never seems to turn out too well. ( maybe that's just me ,lol)

any thoughts or experiences in this area appreciated.

New Plastics are the only way to go... Painting plastic never comes out right in my experience, never

all the plastics on my Mk2 were painted when i got it

some is coming off when i power wash it some is coming off when i ride it

the rest is coming off when i replace the plastics and subframe with CR 125 bits

clean them rather than painting them

Not totally sure but ive heard that they can be flatted an polished up, dunno how good it works but if you got the time to spare it might be worth a bash.

Ive tried the sticky stuff, i musta screwed up 5 rolls of it now an wazzed it on the bin. All goes well till the last bit, then the inevitable happens!

Halfords sell a spray for plastic, im gonna try that cos ive got some halfords vouchers. Only doin a yellow number thing, not the whole panel

There are white painted sections on Mk1/2 sidepanels as they come from Honda. I think preparation is key and using the correct paint. Everthing needs to be thoroughly clean and smooth. Using black gloss paint and the like are complete NO NOs.

I have recently found that you can get an almost polished finish on the original plastic by progressively sanding down the surface finishing by using 1500 grit with engine oil before using Autosol + oil and finally buffing with a dry towel. If you only need to remove the surface film then start with Autsol and no oil, then add oil, then buff.

I got a spare set of plastics that were all painted and found nitromors paint stripper worked perfectly and easily and didn't damage the plastic or discolour it at all although I cleaned it off fast so can't guarantee it wouldn't if you left it on long.

I had a metal polishing kit, the type that goes on a hand drill, and with the soap you can get a really good finish on plastic, I did the clear headlight covers on a road bike that had been down the road, deep scratches and they came out and left a reall smooth clear surface!

Due to the cost of CR panels i am going to replace them a bit at a time

your trial on the CRM panels didn't go well then?

gave up with them and grafted a CR 125 rear subframe , airbox ,tank and panels on onto the CRM ,nice new sidepanels £31.50 for the pair and free delivery got to be worth the conversion time
