hot exhaust and plastics ?

Post by back off road » 13 Mar 2011, 22:20

after doing the CR 125 conversion ive found the edge of the side panel is touching the silencer :(

ive seen two products to hopefully stop the panel melting

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1334wt_905

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10M-EXHAUST-MANIF ... 2413wt_994

has anyone used either of these products or can recommend another solution that doesnt involve pipe bending ?
Im thinking about a bike with more valves than a powervalve

the exhaust end can shouln't get too hot anyway on a two stroke, you can get aluminium foil in strips from a plumbing/gas supplier if you really want to use it and it is self adheasive (like sticky tape just peel of the backing)
