Does anyone know the RAL code for the gold colour Honda used on the clutch cover? If not has anyone found an engine paint that's a close match? Mine is flaky so I'll probably end up repainting it.

I have Teledyne Continental Gold that I am going to use that looks like a pretty close match plus it is heat resistant because it is designed for engines!

You have to get it specially mixed by a paint supplier to match - I can supply a large aerosol can for £20 delivered in the UK.

Jeram - must admit I was thinking of using an engine paint with a satin finish, but did wonder about durability. Not sure how normal 2K would stand up to heat, but I painted a rocker cover years ago with 1k base and 2k lacquer, that was fine.

Suppose I could get a matched base coat and then overcoat with satin/matt 2K lacquer for durability. Annoying that a litre of 2K matting agent costs as much as a litre of satin lacquer!!

Berm Basher - do you happen to know the Honda paint code or RAL code? What size areosol is that, and is it compatible with 2K lacquer?

It's just ordinary car spray paint, I took the cover to a paint specialist and had a match mixed and put into an aerosol. I was so happy that I had another one mixed, and this one is unused. It was on the cover for hundreds of miles and over a year, no problems. I think the can is 400mL - you can also have the remains of the original can. There's a thread on here somewhere showing the colour match. BB.
