1997ish CR125 plastics/tank/subframe conversion to CRM250

So basically it's impossible to find plastics for the CRM, and graphics are quite limited as well. So in a weird and ironic way, I'm thinking of 'updating' the bike by using older plastics. This will solve both those problems and the shapes are relatively similar. The downsides are the radiator bottle will need to be relocated (easily done) and I'm sort of wondering if the tank will need a lot of modifying. But with a mix of new brackets I can seeing it being a relatively easy modification. The plastic fuel tank should also hold up better and negates repainting. I think if I buy a cheap bike (hence the CR125, not CR250) I can part out the 125 as well as sell the CRM spares and be ahead.

Anyone know of similar projects, specifically regarding the fuel tank? Unfortunately due to this, if I can't do that I might end up selling the ol' CRM as much as I'd like a Honda 2 stroke trail bike.

Wow, thanks for that. Looks like it shouldn't be too difficult. With results as good as those I'll definitely have to give it a try now. Now to just wait for a cheap CR to pop up to get the parts from.
