Balance shaft..

Post by shudna » 27 Dec 2006, 16:22

I've had my components checked and the rattle has been put down to piston slap(still on std bore);I removed the balance shaft and had that checked for wear, and all ok.
The problem is I've come to refit the shaft and there are no ref' marks for alignment..can some one advise as to the correct positioning, thanx.
Also does the powervalve shaft just tap out once the locating plate is removed, thanx again.

Shudna,
I will be interested to know what the outcome is with your noise, when i got my mk2 Crm last year i rang leisuretrail as the was a rather unusual clonky/big endy type sound on decelaration/over run, they told me this was a characteristic of the bike and not to worry about it, that was about 9 months ago and the noise has not worsened and nothing has let go, well yet anyway

Everything's been stripped and measured, and the noise has been put down to piston wear/slap,prolly a bit of small end too boot.
I'll let you know the end result when it's back together. :D
