fitting lower rear disc/rotor cover.
Just posted this to a thread in gen.dis. thought it relevant to repost it in technical
the rear disc cover fitted to AR can be fitted to the mk2 & 2.2 not sure of mk3
I presume it will fit mk3 as it fits AR.
if you get one (LT do um) line it up and you will see two untapped casting points. Mark um drill and tap job done.
doesnt need to be spot on, you can elongate holes in plastic if needed.
easiest way is dill tap one hole then partially put screw in, youcan then accurately line up 2nd hole.
thread size 6mm, drill 5mm works.

oh yes dont mean to be a forum bore ......
but i did get a tap n die set form a tool place from a market .....It went blunt on alloy
got a small kit from B+Q cheap worked great.
when tapping dont force the tap. do 1/4-1/2 turn then turn anti-clock
remove bur's (metal shavings)......You should use a cutting fluid, dont know where to get it, I just use WD40 this cools and lubs so I think helps cut.

thanks Jono!
I did it while on bro in-laws AR ( his never had guard).
used a punch so drill would find start, also started on slow high torque so drill bit cut nicely...........I agree better to usse a bench drill .....BUT I did a good job whilst caliper was in situ.
I will 'ave to put a filipe guard on my 2.2 looks ace and resonable price

Yep, they do fit on a mk3, coz I just fitted one. I took off the brake carrier and stuck it under the pillar drill. A couple of low profile allen s/screws in M6 did the trick. I'm really pleased with it and it looks fairly robust.
