Exhaust leaking black oil
Exhaust leaking black oil
My Mk3 has started leaking black burned oil out of a rivet in endcan onto the swinging arm and rear caliper - seems to run OK though although a bit smokey.
Do I have to monkey with the thingy that puts the oil in the engine?
I'm not very technical when it comes to two strokes, as you can probably tell.

on the right hand side of the engine(if you were sitting on the bike) at the front there is a plastic cover over the oil pump held on by two screws/bolts. remove this and you will see the pump cable pulley, this has a mark on the side which when at full throttle position should line up with a pointer on the casing if i remember correctly. if it doesnt line up the cable must be adjusted with the two 10mm af locknuts. also check that the cable isn't snagging (due to frayed strands etc) making the pump stay open, and that it moves freely over its whole range. your bike might also just be in need of a good thrashing to get the whole system hot and burn off the oil sat in your can. hope this helps

When I first got my mk2 it had been used on the streets round london as a going to work bike (why) and not been used off road much, this i could believe as the owner was a sportsbike man who didnt want to dirty his GSX
anyway that was dripping oil everywhere from the exhaust, so I thrashed the nuts off of it in the dirt. now the exhaust is perfectly clear of any oil
