Power valve cable settings ?

Post by petrolhead » 01 Jun 2008, 22:23

Hi guys, just fitted a new pair of power valve cables on my MK2 after noting the setting of the old ones, with the engine turned off the marks are lined up as per the manual, but the LT manual says this is where they should be when at idle (1300 rpm ). so where are they with the engine off roughly?

there is no definite settings for them with the bike switched off.

Best to let the bike warm up first for a few mins first till the engine gets to temp then set it to the markers while it is idling.
when you switch the bike off it may drop a few mm lower from the markers, but is normal. As long as they
line up properly when the bike is running, it's ok.

Cheers for that Scrubs, Thinking about it, the bike would have been idling when switched off,and being servo driven rather than centrifugal it would remain in the same spot more or less, but I will check with it running :D
