Mk2 CRM 250 - Oil Pump Oil Seal Problem
Mk2 CRM 250 - Oil Pump Oil Seal Problem
I know this has been mentioned in previous threads, but here is my generous Xmas contribution to the site
The problem that occurs is that the oil seal on the pump shaft, inside the clutch cover works itself loose and eventually
lets the 2 stroke oil into the gearbox, which then dumps out of the gearbox breather pipe.
Simple to fix, the seal just needs pushing firmly back into place.
Fingers crossed this should last, presumably another 12 years or so ???
I took these pictures recently when this happened to mine, now sorted........

It was very thoughtful of Honda to put the red writing inside the clutch cover, it helped no end
Any questions on the job ? Just ask

I had same problem with mine, it was draining overnight into the gearbox, don't over fill the two stroke tank leave a big air gap and as you push the rubber bung/lid in do it slowly so as not to build up pressure, as this in turn forces out the seal, you dont have to take the clutch cover off just the oil pump and refit the pump, a dap of super glue helps to. this has worked for me
