no spark again

Post by Manual_kinguk » 15 Jun 2010, 20:29

just read the post about no spark on a mk 2.2 and it seems like the pickups are the problems leading to this.but i have also noticed damage to one of wires on the stator windings behind the flywheel.but the bike starts and kicks out twelve volts so i can't see that would be another problem unless i'm wrong

:( Just too confuse fault finding, both items mentioned can, and do break down when they reach operational temperature.
Some one mentioned about applying a coat of "hair spray", as temporary fix, to rule the windings , in , or out.

hi there guys, just to give an update, I ended up buying the new stator pick ups, but still no spark. I'm confused as sh**. I've tested my CDI, rectifier, and coil on my other 2.2, and all works fine. could it perhaps be magnito/flywheel?

Very unlikely unless it has suffered physical damage and cracked the magnets :?: .

i replaced the pickups and stator windings and that did the trick but my windings where damaged.try taking the flywheel off and giving it a good clean inside mine was full of brown gunky stuff which didn't help.

My CRM had no spark ,I thought it was the stator plate, overiding the cut out switch was the cure for my bike.

Hi there guys, sorry its taken so long to reply, was out of the country on business. just a quick update, I've mentioned that I bought the new stators, but still no spark, huh... but, if I unscrew the spark plug from the head, and then earth it, I then have spark. So this tells me that I'm not getting spark under compression/load. any ideas as to why I've got such weak spark???

Thanks a mil

Julien
