weight?

Post by xander77 » 14 Oct 2010, 20:00

Hi If I look at my mates DR350 specs, it says his bike is 130kgs dry weight, not bad, but the specs on this site say a CRM 250 Mk3 weighs 127Kgs, now there seems more than 3Kgs between my CRM and his DR so who is telling porkys (pun?) about their weight!!

Manufacturers always tell porkies about weight, though KTM are less bad than most.

Get some bathroom scales and (whilst the other half is not looking ;) ) get the bikes stood on their back wheels on the scales. Only as accurate as the scales are and you have to allow for some support (try to get as close as you can to the balance point).

Or better still get 2 scales, lay them out and put both wheels on them. 1 + 2 = weight of bike :!:
