runing issues
hello all
having running issues with my mk2 crm. started it up today for a ride and after warming it up it was having probles idleing. When I reved the engine the motor was taking longer to slow down to its normal idle speed, so I set the idle. After reving the engine again the motor didnt return back to an idle but continued turning over at a high rpm even when I tried stoping the motor by hitting the kill switch........nothing happened......puling off the spark plug cap and turning off the fuel.......nothing happened. IT WAS STILL TURNING OVER WITH NO SPARK PLUG CAP FITTED !!!!!!!!!! So eventually I got it to stop by unscrewing the idle adgust screw.
I dont really have any experiance with two strokes but I reakon that I might have an air leak somewhere
Any pointers would be off much help as I am due to go out riding tomorrow night
cheers

Re: runing issues
You are definately running lean so the engine is running so hot it starts auto ignition. Probably an air leak but clean out the carb if you haven't done it recently anyway. Maybe a split in the intake rubber or an unsealed gasket.
