fuel consumption

hi there last 2 tanks of fuel have been way short on the kms usualy get 100/101 kms out a tank last 2 has been 73 /75 any ideas where this 1/4 tank of fuel is going ?
does not seem to be leaking anywhere runs ok ect

any ideas cheers jez

maybe clean your carb an check float action

+1, also check when the bikes on the side stand that the fuel isn't dribbling away, I have seen this frequently.

finaly got round to removing the carb and checking it didnt seem to be overly dirty float seems all good no holes ect does not appear to be leaking out the over flow tho it did do this a few weeks ago totaly emptied the tank was leaning way over tho soft ground ! last tank was worse tho only 64 kms which prompted me to pull finger and clean out the carb

anything else to check ?

u checked float height?

any petrol smell?

what does your plug look like?

plug looks well a little lean if anything

no fuel dribble i been switching it off and the bike still starts from the carb

float hight ?


and it is still getting worse 56kms last tank really doing my nut in

checked in the air box really got me stuck this

do u have a locking fuel cap?

:? What gearing are you running?
Have you made any other changes recently?

Does the delivery hose look in good condition?

Where are the overflow pipes routed?

Can you rig up a temporary collector on the overflows to check how much fuel is not even making to the carb?

hmm seems my problem is with the odometer its still turning but not as it should been place i know are 21 kms and only showing 31kms for both ways should be 42

tho the speedo still seems to read right
