Highly unlikely.
I think due to their exposed position it's worth giving them a good clean every so often, a wire brush should help do the job.
This will allow them to dump the heat to the atmosphere more efficiently.
Glad it's now back to form.

ah now we are getting there knackered .as the run before last was after the big february storm this was from longridge and beyond,there was only slush in lancashire but longpreston was the start of the snow it ended in three feet deep drifts above buckden that we fought through for an hour then realised it was time to bailout as we would have not got down before 8 pm.the bikes where stood up on there own it was that deep could this have covered and insullated the afore mentioned rectifier i wonder .i thought they dumped currant into the frame but its mounted onto the plastic air box.

Yeah dude, south ribble.
Love longridge, one of me fave bike routes is jeffrey hill, birdy brow then clitheroe, pendle hill an back.

i have found that the powervalve has stopped working although it tests ok on a battery so i think the pgm has blown on the powervalve circuit
