Rear light Electrical problem

Post by Graham peck » 25 May 2014, 18:59

Hey people. I have a minor error with my rear light, when my bike MK1 is started the Rear light bulb is showing that i am breaking when i am not, then when I come to break it changes to how it should be when I am not breaking.

I havent had chance to look at the problem yet, so before I do, I was hoping you guys/girls could offer some advice before i do.

Thanks...

Graham :)

Most probably the rear brake light switch is catching/not setup correctly. They rust inside and the spring goes weak - they are really terribly designed. Give it a good blast with WD40 or the like and try to clean the inside. Set it up properly.

Cheers again Knackered, should of thought about this more before I posted this, to much going on I suppose :S

Sorted it now, I have different leavers on the bike so I have to have some tape or something that will pack it out a tad, so it will make contact with the switch... Starting to get sick of these cheap rear light switches off Ebay too I must say -_-

Thanks.

Why not source one of the hydraulic type, it fits on the top of the back brake slave cylinder.
