Rev Counter!?

Post by CRM'er » 27 Sep 2005, 06:43

Is it possibe to fit a rev counter to the crm? I'll be getting rid of the old speedo and fitting a digital one so will have room for a small rev counter. Just onedering if it is possible to hook up to anything to get the reading.
Cheers

Most coils are permant live with a switched earth, so you should be able to get a pulse from the coil. CRM works on wasted spark like most two strokes so you may need to read one pulse and then ignore next pulse(wasted spark) otherwise 1300rpm will show as 2600rpm.

I was thinking more like an analog rev counter, something good for road use. There are a number of digital speedo's out there, even a mountain bike one would be good(as long as it can read over 99km/h). But there are some really good looking trail speedo's out there that are expencive but would do the job great!
