Saw some cheapo Chinese hydraulic clutch conversions on eBay for about £25 quid but read a feedback saying they were junk (as you can imagine). This they got me looking at other options as I do a lot of green laning on my CRM so need good clutch control with a decent grip on the bars too. 2 fingers is OK with the cable clutch but for climbing rocks etc 1 finger is better so I can hang on. 1 finger on a cable clutch is not sustainable for long periods.
I spotted a 2nd hand Magura for a CRF which had also been used on a CR so I took a punt and negotiated a price.
Here it is in my kitchen
I mounted it to check for fit and length of hose etc.
It was apparent the reach on the slave cylinder was not quite long enough (18-20mm short).
So I took the slave in to work for a Friday morning special and turned up an extension piece.
Once fitted it didnt seem like here was much travel which was a worry but a quick test ride had me grinning like a gibbon. 1 finger action is all good. the 'feel' of a cable is gone but I will get used to it quick enough.

You've made it look an easy conversion.
The extension piece is elegant -
I'm always envious of those who have access to a lathe.

the conversion is easy apart from the need to extend the rod.

There are different lengths of the rod that comes out of the cylinder available. Don't know how expensive though?

I dont think they sell parts separately though and would still offer no adjustment. I can screw the cap screw in and out to give the length I need. You can buy different slaves with screw adjusters and different length rods etc.

I contacted Magura a while ago, and they told me what to measure up to have a kit made up. They told me all the parts needed and quoted me over £300. I trawled through their website and found it to be the exact same set up as an XT660 I think it was. Managed to find a brand new kit on ebay in Australia for about £150 so went with that. I did a write up on here but can't seem to find it.
