no spark
Hi all I have a crm 250ar and it hasnt been started for about 12 months. Went to start it and no go, checked everything and found no spark. I have very little voltage (about 1 v) going to the ignition coil from the cdi. Everything else checks out ok. Is there anything else I should check before scrapping it as a new CDI is worth more than the bike now. Cheers!

These are renowned for the Reg/Rec dying so would be looking at that first. Mine actually died on the lanes and the first I knew was my GPS saying it was no longer charging followed by a misfire and finally nothing. £90 to see you right if it is that.

Do you know anyone else who owns an AR?
You could swap your suspect unit on their bike and verify whether it's working or not.
PS. best not to test a known working CDI on your bike in case the reg/rec is blown.
