Fractured bars are a lesson learnt...

Post by Bargos » 14 Dec 2004, 17:44

Hey,

Well I learnt something on saturday - once your handlebars are bent its nigh on impossible to ever get them \"right\" again.

So there I was with a length of scaffold tube trying to straighten out my Renthals, must have been at it for 20 minutes, bending, checking, bending, checking and, on what I promised would be my last bend, the handlebars fractured!!

A quick call to LeisureTrail gets me a set of 'Dakar' Renthals for a touch under 30 quid - im over 6 foot tall and are told these work well for the taller rider...full report soon :-)

take care.

will be interested to see how you get on with them Bargos - I'm 6'2\" and quite often suffer from back ache when off road, apparently taller bars would help this.

Ill let you know...BTW a mate of mine used to suffer from the same problem, turns out his rear shock was on too firm a setting...

Cheers.
